Netgear M4250 is Best Switches for AV-over-IP NDI Network Video Streaming
NETGEAR M4250 is The BEST Network Switches for NDI!
NETGEAR has been establishing a name for itself for years with AV over IP-designed switches. Unique features integrated into all NETGEAR Pro AV switches, such as NETGEAR IGMP Plus, Auto-Trunk and Auto-LAG, ensure that NDI AV over IP deployments will function with minimal configuration.
The AV Line of M4250 switches introduces a brand-new, significantly simpler method for deploying AV over IP systems. The one-of-a-kind AV graphical user interface (AV GUI) simplifies configuration by employing profiles containing all the specific settings for each variety of AV codec, such as NDI 5. Simply select the codec and the interfaces employing that codec. That is all. All configurations are managed automatically, drastically reducing setup time.
The M4250-10G2F-PoE+ AV Line Managed Switch (GSM4212P) is ideal for use with NDI thanks to its 8x1G PoE+ ports with 125W of PoE budget, 2x1G standard ports, and 2xSFP ports for 1G uplinks. This switch is straightforward to configure with profiles for NDI 4 and a brand new profile for NDI 5 with Q-SYS, Dante, or AES67 audio, all via the intuitive AV user interface.
NETGEAR M4250 Switches Perfect for NDI 5
The new NETGEAR M4250 line of switches combined with the world of NDI 5 mean the possibility of simple, affordable IP-based broadcasting and recording can now be realized.
M4250 switches are pre-configured for audio and video signals that are commonly used. When more precise requirements exist, an AV user interface allows for customization via port-based profiles.
For audio, Dante, Q-SYS, and AES67 profiles are available, as is an AVB profile that requires a separate AVB license. For video, the M4250 supports NVX, AMX, Q-SYS, NewTek NDI, and Dante profiles, as well as mixed audio/video/control profiles. When multiple switches are used, NETGEAR IGMP PlusTM automates the process by simply connecting them together or by using M4300 and M4500 switches.

What is NDI?
Network Device Interface (NDI) is an innovative open standard for IP workflows in live production over Ethernet networks. NDI enables systems and devices to identify and communicate with one another, as well as encode, transmit, and receive real-time, high-quality, low-latency, frame-accurate video and audio over IP.
The new NDI 5 codec is useful for broadcast studios, places of worship, and even corporate AV. The number of manufacturers who have adopted NDI is increasing daily, providing a vast selection of cameras, switchers, controllers, and converters.
Historically, IP-based audio and video workflows necessitated expensive equipment and intricate configuration settings at the production end. As a result, only professional studios could produce high-quality audio and video content. The NETGEAR AV Line of M4250 switches with their new, user-friendly web interface and NDI software significantly reduce the expense and complexity of audio and video workflows. With NETGEAR and NDI, content creators can concentrate on crafting a more compelling narrative without having to travel to a professional studio or deal with conventional AV workflow technology.
