The ATOMOS Sumo 19 is a 19” HDR monitor/recorder/switcher that supports 4Kp60 and 2Kp240 HDR in 10bit ProRes/DNxHR or 12bit raw codecs into SSD drives. This monitor recorder also supports 1080p60 recording and live to switch along with a 1200nit bright screen ideal for monitoring in the bright sunlight. Atomos SUMO also can connect seamlessly to any HDMI or SDI device and can also convert between 3G Quad Link/6G/12G and HDMI 2.0 SDI in almost any combination.
The 19” 1920x1080 10-bit LCD panel of Sumo is operated with one AtomHDR engine that can map the Log/PQ/HLG precisely from the popular cameras, TV makers or gaming consoles to resolve 10+ stops of HDR perfectly on an immediate basis. The vivid colors and brightness range of HDR can bring scenes to life in the case of output to larger Rec709/HDR displays for the purpose of onset review or on the monitor. Besides, this recorder can also be operated with popular grading or NLE suites for cost-effective SDR or HDR grading or editing in the studio.
Record up to four channels of 1080/60p
This recorder allows for switching and mixing live records and recording or streaming 4 x HD ISO recordings by using the QuadLink SDI connections. Besides, here it is also possible to switch between crossfade, feeds on screen with cueing and hard cuts from the tag or locked sources and therefore to adjust the final edits with the advanced metadata tagging while preserving ISO feeds to get the desired final result, which is infinitely editable.
10-bit ProRes/DNxHR, 12-bit Raw up to 4kp60
Depending on the capability of the camera, here it is possible to capture RAW production from Canon C300MKII/ C500, Panasonic Varicam LT or Sony FS5/FS7/FS700 over SDI up to 10-bit Apple ProRes / Avid DNxHR up to 4Kp60 / 2Kp240 or 12-bit 4Kp30. High Bright 1920x1080 monitor
Atomos Sumo comes with 1200nit extremely bright display where one can monitor accurately even in the outside in daylight. Besides, there is an optional hood available for the ultimately isolated viewing performance. Like other high-end monitors available in the market, this also has the calibration to recompense for the brightness and natural color drift, which monitors the exhibit over the time. The calibration input of Sumo allows the users to use X-Rite’s i1DisplayPro to ensure accurate Rec709 and HDR monitoring.
Balanced XLR monitor
Atomos Sumo eliminates the requirement of another audio recorder with the help of full-scale XLR connections that power and connect peripheral microphones for receiving balanced analog audio along with dedicated adjustments and meters from the frame delay and gain. Line level audios or 48V phantom mics are synchronized seamlessly for the most updated audio feature, which is these days set in the monitors. Quad HDMI & SDI 2.0 in/out
Sumo can connect seamlessly to any HDMI or SDI device and can also convert between 3G Quad Link/6G/12G and HDMI 2.0 SDI in almost any combination. The Quad SDI inputs can connect the cameras with numerous 3G SDI or 1.5 outputs without needing any converter. HDMI 2.0 supports maximum 4Kp60 output/input along with the most updated Atomos open protocol, which can support HDR automation that includes importing of the camera settings. Besides, there is support available for LTC timecode and Genlock.
Construction and options for mounting
Atomos Sumo comes with Aluminum Alloy chassis with inbuilt armor houses ten mounting points across the side/bottom/top/bezel, a built-in stand for different types of mounting arrangements and a rear panel VESA mount. The elective mounting plates of this recorder are capable of connection 2 x Anton Bauer/ V-Lock batteries that along with the patent-pending constant power system let the batteries to be hot-swapped to make sure that the user never remains without power while working in the field. Still, the best thing is that this recorder is capable of delivering all of the connectivity while maintaining the overall weight of 13.7 lb/ 6.2 kg.
