JVC GY-HC500U 4K Pro Camcorder with M.2 SSD Media Adapter Kit
Description
The JVC GY-HC500U 4K Pro Camcorder with M.2 SSD Media Adapter Kit is a UHD 4K camcorder that shoots in both NTSC and PAL frame rates and is designed to work with both traditional and IP workflows. It has a 1 on it "The camera has a CMOS sensor and an integrated 20x optical zoom lens, and it can make a 40x digital zoom. The camera can capture in UHD, HD, and SD resolutions, and you can use SD as a proxy to record at up to 30p to the built-in media card slots or 60/50p to an optional SSD. The camera can capture HDR in HLG or JLog1 formats (10-bit).
1" 4K CMOS Image Sensor
The GY-HC500 is equipped with a 1-inch CMOS 4K image sensor for unrivaled cinema and video creation. This big sensor has a high dynamic range, a high S/N ratio, and a high sensitivity (F11 at 2000lx), allowing for artistic visual expression such as shallow depth of focus bokeh capability.
20x Optical/40x Dynamic Zoom
The GY-HC500 comes with a newly built wide-angle 20x optical zoom lens for optimal shooting magnification. Dynamic Zoom uses optical magnification and pixel mapping from a 4K image sensor to deliver a seamless and lossless 40x zoom when recording in HD mode. Take complete control of the scene with three huge zoom, focus, and iris rings for smooth shooting. An optical picture stabilizer and chromatic aberration correction are also included.
HLG/J-Log 1 for HDR
The GY-HC500 has an HDR compatible HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) mode as well as JVC's proprietary J-Log 1 Gamma mode. These allow for high dynamic range capture of a broad color spectrum with 10-bit recording for improved color grading and banding avoidance. When viewed on HLG-compatible monitors, footage recorded in HLG mode will produce a full HDR image. The J-Log 1 mode has a wide latitude and an 800% dynamic range. In the field, you can record while inspecting the image on the GY-HC500's LCD screen or viewfinder to get a sense of the final result.
The GY-HC500 supports HLG recording, allowing for a simple HDR workflow without color grading. Images are more realistic and vibrant when highlights and shadows are not clipped. BT.2020, which has a larger color gamut, is also supported.
UHD 4K 60p/50p Recording in Apple ProRes 422 10-bit
For eye-catching 4K 60p/50p image creation, the GY-HC500 records in Apple ProRes 422. Apple ProRes 422 HQ provides nearly lossless intra-frame compression, which accelerates post-production. Without transcoding, footage is recorded in native file formats that are understood by the majority of major editing applications. This aids in the effective workflow of editing and post-processing. The 4:2:2 format also provides more color information, and 10-bit recording produces rich gradations, which is a significant advantage for grading work after recording.
SSD Allows for Longer 4K UHD 60p/50p Shooting
Large-capacity, widely available SSDs (SATA M.2 SSD Type2280) are compatible, allowing for long-term 4K UHD/HD video recording at 60p/50p. Simply insert it into the camera's expanded slot (using the optional SSD adapter KA-MC100G). To handle professional workloads, SSD media provides high sequential read speed. Massive amounts of recorded footage can be transferred at high speeds.
SRT Technology
The SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) is an open source video transport protocol that allows high-quality, secure, low-latency video to be delivered across the public Internet. SRT optimizes streaming performance across unreliable networks by using secure streams and simple firewall traversal to deliver the highest quality live video over the worst networks. It accounts for packet loss, jitter, and fluctuating bandwidth to keep your video's integrity and quality intact.
SRT provides end-to-end security, resiliency, and dynamic endpoint adjustment based on real-time network conditions to ensure the best video quality on any network at all times.
Viewing IP Remote Control
When the camera is IP-connected, vital camera operations can be remotely controlled from a tablet, smartphone, or computer anywhere in the world via wireless or wired LAN. Lens and camera settings, as well as registering zoom presets and IP connection settings, are all accessible via remote control.
Return via IP
The individual in front of the camera can conduct a two-way interview with return video and audio while streaming live to air through IP network. This enables reporters to wirelessly receive station directions and camera operators to re-adjust framing as ordered from another place. Multi-camera applications are also supported.
