The HD-BNC connector meets or exceeds SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 424M specifications for return loss. The dielectric had also been extended on the jack to improve the mechanical strength of the center contact without return loss performance degradation. Connectors provide a solid, anti-splay outside diameter to mitigate any "wiggle."
